PROGRAM PARTNERSHIP OPTIONS

Clients have two options for partnership with K12Private Schools. The details of the K12 International Academy option are outlined below. Students must meet the school’s diploma requirements in order to earn a diploma.

Full-Time Option

Students come to the K12 School full time after completing 3-4 years in a foreign school that is licensed or approved by the local ministry of education. Students take the remaining 5-6 credits needed to fulfill the K12 School’s graduation requirements in a single, senior year.

This is equivalent to students transferring to a new school of record for their senior year.

We apply our standard credit transfer policies and accept all earned credit and apply towards K12 International Academy.

The students would take the required 5-6 courses from us to balance out our graduation requirements. These courses will be determined by school policy and will fulfill graduation requirements for the student unless special approval has been received from the Head of School to deviate from the requirements.

K12 International Academy requires that students earn a minimum of 6 credits in the following categories:

English (this needs to be an English course at the level of English 3 or English 4 that has a literature focus. It cannot be ESL.): 1 Credit

Math (Algebra 1 or higher): 1 Credit

History: 1 Credit

Science: 1 Credit

Electives: 2 Credits

Part-Time Option

A second situation involves students in a locally authorized foreign high school taking 1-2 required classes per year over a 3-4 year period with K12 International Academy while they concurrently complete their local high school requirements.

The students may receive their local high school diploma in addition to the K12 International Academy.

We apply our standard credit transfer policies and accept all earned credit and apply towards K12 International Academy graduation requirements and then map out which courses the students will need to take to meet graduation requirements.

These courses will be determined by school policy and will fulfill graduation requirements for the student unless special approval has been granted by the Head of School to deviate from the listed requirements. At a minimum, the requirements for the schools are:
